Established in 2005 this Centre of Excellence for vehicle and powertrain development is located on a very attractive university campus employing more than 250 Engineering Specialists. The Centre offers talented Automotive Engineers and Managers the opportunity to work on a wide range of passenger car and commercial vehicle projects in a highly professional environment with excellent prospects for career development and progression. Over £85 million has been invested in the Centre since its foundation and it continues to grow and create new opportunities. Located close to the Warwickshire countryside the Centre is commutable from Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Warwick, Stratford, Northampton, Milton Keynes.

An opening now exists for an experienced Project Manager to join the team. A very competitive salary, car allowance and benefits package is on offer.

The main activities and tasks for this job are to:
- Manage and take ownership of general project activities
- Manage project meetings
- Manage project training requirements
- Identify issues that require action, take ownership and delivery responsibility, escalating as appropriate
- Support other programme management staff as required
- Manage pre-production build Bill of Material issues
- Manage relationship with customer STA organisation
- Manage relationship with customer purchasing department to resolve supplier issues
- Take responsibility for governance reviews
- Take ownership of programme launch activities as required
- International travel of up to 12 weeks per year
- Travel to multiple sites in the UK West Midlands area
Candidate ideal core requirements are:
- A Degree or similar qualification
- Strong numeracy and literacy
- A minimum of 5 years automotive, defence or aerospace experience
- Good logical reasoning
- Able to demonstrate depth of experience in a relative technical speciality
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Chartered or working toward it
- The ability to inspire the team to strive for improvements and high customer service
- Have evidence of achieving results through effective leadership of a team
- Able to translate business plan into individual objectives for staff
- Capable of managing a group of engineers and support Lead Engineers in the delivery of performance objectives
- Ability to overcome cultural barriers
- Knowledge of Jaguar Land Rover processes such as WERS, AIMS, GPDS, PCE
- Knowledge of APQP processes
- Hold a Full driving licence
