Leadership of the Optical Quality Process to facilitate delivery of a vehicle meeting its visual quality targets. This includes:
- Organising and running daily Optical Quality review meetings involving personnel from Product Development, Perceived Quality, Design, Dimensional Variation Analysis and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
- Leading the resolution of Optical Quality issues by liaising with above groups and/or giving advice on engineering solutions for improved visual quality.
- Arbitrating where conflict exists and escalating issues that require senior involvement to resolve or buy-off.
- Regular reporting of programme Optical Quality status/progress by issuing written status and by presenting in review forums.
- Specification of adjustable models to assist with buy-off of engineering.

Skills Required:
The ideal candidate will be a lateral thinker with strong analytical skills. They should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical issues within a team environment. They should have an analytic understanding of manufacturing process variation/process capability and how to improve this and/or improve the visual impact of this. They should have the ability to interrogate CAD data - using associated visualisation tools, such as Vis Mock-up/Digital Buck. The role may require inter-site travel, and therefore it is expected that candidates will hold a valid UK Drivers licence.

Skills Preferred:
Working knowledge of project delivery process. Ideally OEM PCS (or GPDS). Working knowledge of change management processes, such as AIMS, WERS, PACN and GPIRS, would be beneficial.

Experience Required:
Experience of program or project management, meeting demanding timescales. A knowledge of Body Engineering systems and component design, function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements. Experience of plant based assembly and manufacturing problems.

Experience Preferred:
Ideally within the automotive sector or adjacent industries, e.g. rail, aerospace, defence, energy etc.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject.

Additional Information:
The role will require inter-site travel and periods of several months based at the manufacturing pilot plant. Therefore, it is expected that candidates will hold a valid UK Drivers licence.
