Based in Warwickshire, this role will appeal to candidates based in Birmingham, Warwick, Coventry, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Solihull, Banbury.
This specialist role is required to provide analysis and development resource for Linux/Solaris based Servers operated by AML to ensure high availability and operating efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the Planning, build, test and deployment of approved PLM Server Hardware/OS upgrades as required.
- Manage the build, testing and deployment of Windows Workstations as required (2 and 4 Tier) with support from application specialists (CAD/CAE and Visualisation)
- Manage day to day support of PLM/HPC Servers (Solaris and Linux) with appropriate housekeeping regime.
- Actively apply preventative maintenance schedule for all PLM servers and clients to maximise availability.
- Develop software/scripts that manage or assist in the management of AML Linux/Unix/Windows based serrvers.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the IT-PLM Asset Management (Server and Client based)
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all AML IT Policies and Procedures
- Configuration/management of User Accounts
- Managing Passwords and regular refreshes (as dictated by policies and procedures)
- Configuration and Monitoring all appropriate IT-PLM backup policies
- Assist with installation, integration and support of all third party software applications when approved.
- Diagnosis and resolve PLM issues regarding network services.
- Configure and trouble shoot "Powerpath" concerns
- Utilise Shell programming skills to create launch scripts and streamline/automate administration duties.
- Develop and manage IT-PLM disaster recovery plan.
- Schedule andSupport annual DR rehearsals (onsite or offsite)
- Manage and Document annual MCRP,ICR and ACR compliance
- Schedule and Document results of annual client software audit
- Document/manage updates of all related Configurations, processes and procedures.
- Support project related work and provide input for developing future strategies
- Provide day to day 2nd level support as required by IT dept workload based on skill set.
- Supporting remote sites with appropriate connectivity and security as required
- Working with Infrastructure SAN specialist, ensure all appropriate backup policies are in place, scheduled and validated periodically.
- Manage the deployment of updates to both server and clients utilising SCCM where appropriate

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or previous relevant technical field experience preferred.
- A good working knowledge of the Unix/Linux and/or Windows all operating systems is required
- Basic CAD skills Siemens NX and/or CATIA would be advantageous
- Must show willingness to follow verbal or written instructions
- Ability to complete assignments with minimum supervision
- Ability to web search internally/externally for support information
- Highly motivated with a desire to improve skills.
