A Safety and Quality Engineer is required to work on contract for our client who specialise in luxury cars, the position will be based in the West Midlands.

Safety and Quality Engineer for embedded real-time control systems. Lead the development of Safety Plan and Safety SOW to meet project timing, to support appropriate ISO 26262 requirements. Responsible for the PSA, SIA (Safety Integrity Argument) and DSA (Detailed Safety Analysis), quality deliverables, and organisation and execution of user trials.

Skills Required:
Lead the quality deliverables, FMEA, RDM, Boundary, SPICE, DFMEA, P-diagram, etc. Experience of hazard identification techniques, e.g. HAZOPs, Hazard log maintenance etc. Knowledge of industrial safety standards, e.g. IEC61508, MISRA Guidelines and ISO26262. Ability to facilitate safety analysis meetings across different technical disciplines.

Skills Preferred:
Good communication and presentation skills. Fault Tree Analysis. Hazard Analysis. Hardware specification development. Integration of OEM hardware. Requirements capture and definition. Experience of full cycle of control system development and testing.

Experience Required:
Successful delivery of at least 1 previous Safety Critical control system project, to meet whole world requirements for a major OEM or supplier. Responsible for developing the Safety Verification plan. Experience of achieving system reliability targets using hardware and software design techniques.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject. Experience in Safety Critical Systems preferred in the either the fields of Electronics, Software or Control Systems.
