You will be joining a motivated and capable design team that is responsible for the product design from capturing requirements with customers through the design and validation tasks to ensuring the product enters volume manufacturing as a high-quality highly reliable safe product. This team has many key design skills covering areas from Microprocessors (16 and 32 bit), Power Supplies, Power Filtering and Switching, Actuator Drive Design to analogue design plus EMC. We are looking for willing and keen people to come and join us in a broad design and development role, where analogue and power circuit design and development skills are used and can be developed further, and you can take a key role in designing the product.
Electronic Circuit Design: Creation of new electronic circuit designs, covering a wide range of digital and analogue technologies, for high volume, safety critical automotive control systems. Good understanding of electronic components and manufacturing assembly techniques and processes
Electronic Circuit Analysis: Tolerancing and worst case using various simulation tools (e.g. Saber, Spice) and analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Mathcad). Also FMEA and Reliability analysis
Generation of Requirements and Test Documents: Generating documentation in support of procedures and engineering design and development activities
Verification and Test: Generate test plans and conduct test/verification programmes to ensure designs are fit for purpose and conform to design requirements and match the design analysis
Working with customers both inside and outside of the organisation to define and develop the product
Essential:
Educated to degree level (in a relevant subject)
Experienced in analogue and power electronics design in a high volume and/or high reliability market
Experience in key safety analysis processes (e.g. FMEA)
Willingness to push existing boundaries and learn/develop new skills
Self motivated and able to work with or without direct supervision
Excellent communication skills, particularly reporting

Desirable:
Member of relevant professional body (e.g. IET)
Willing to travel
Automotive system and design experience (e.g. requirements, processes and tools)
Foreign language abilities (customers in Sweden, Germany, France and Japan)
