We are recruiting for a Supplier Development Engineer on a 6-month contract, based in Leicester.

As Supplier Development Engineer, you will manage and execute supplier capability initiatives at material suppliers. Deliver tools, processes and expertise to our client`s suppliers to enable them to replenish material to MRP pull trigger systems. Deploy lean, high quality, high velocity supply chain practices at suppliers.

This role is responsible for all supplier management activities at the facility. The postholder is responsible for :
* Manage agreed managing Supplier Common Goals and work with suppliers to build lean supply chain capability in the areas of material replenishment to facilities, improved throughput and capacity planning.
* Requirements to support, Material Requirements Planning, Supplier Management and Development; Pull material replenishment, Supplier Capability, Delivery, Value Stream Mapping, Supply Chain Constraints, PFEP, NPI, support low cost country sourcing, Supplier SandOP, MRC Connect, Production Planning, Demand Planning, Master Scheduling, Corporate Shipping Guidelines, ASN User Manual, Packaging Sub-process

Qualifications/Experience:
* Experience in Purchasing, Material Requirements, or Supply Chain / Logistics. Completion of the Cat U Leadership Curriculum
* Completion of the Cat U Order-to-Delivery, Supply Chain Core and CPS Team Leader Training
* Completion of CPS Yellow Belt, Yellow Belt +, Green Belt and Black Belt Training and CPS Functional Job

Role Qualified
* APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
* Solid product knowledge
* College or university degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management
* Minimum of five years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience
* Able to work independently with minimal direction
* APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
* Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with a customer service focus
* Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially those with supplier impact
* Solid logistics and manufacturing knowledge
