We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis in Wolverhampton.

As Quality Engineer, you will provide production support to Assembly, Test, Paint and Manufacturing teams, primarily dealing with improvement activities, new product introduction and problem solving.

* Timely implementation of containment actions for Internal quality issues.
* Implementation and facilitation of corrective action for internal quality issues.
* Involvement in CPI projects as a team member.
* Lead projects to improve quality metrics including FPY.
* Quality support for engineering / Purchase issues as required
* Data collection and analysis for internal quality metrics.
* Completion of Process Audits in line with published plans.
* Provide deliverables for our client's Quality Management System and ISO system requirements
* Support CAV requirements.
* Implement standard work for transactional processes within the Quality Assurance department.
* Training of others in quality tools.
* Investigate and implement product improvements.
* SPC implementation and monitoring.
* Undertake APQP activities/PPAP deliverables for new and existing product.

In addition, applicants will ideally have:
* Formal academic quality assurance qualification preferred.
* Two to three years of job-related experience or related vocational qualification.
* Strong analytical skills required
* Competent in use of quality tools including 6-sigma methodology and 8D root cause analysis.
* Working knowledge and use of APQP tools including PPAP process, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA.
* Knowledge of assembly / manufacturing processes, transmission product.
* Computer skills and familiarity with various software packages is required
* Must be self motivated and able to act on initiative
* Ability to lead groups and drive actions, outside of workgroup where required
* Good communication and interpersonal skills as the position involves frequent contact with people outside the work group.
