Our client is a World renowned manufacturer of luxury sports cars; its name is well known and needs little introduction. Its people are passionate about the cars they produce and it s a great place to work. Its cars are truly special they always have been and always will be. The sports cars will continue to be hand-built and bespoke but the company also use the latest high technology processes and leading edge disciplines in a very modern environment. It is profitable, growing in a rapid but controlled manner and moving into new global markets. As a result it is seeking to add to the Body Engineering team to ensure the continued delivery of world class Safety Attributes.

The Safety PAT Leader will lead the safety attribute development, design and verification for all vehicle programs to ensure all targets are met. Key elements of the role are:

  • Define vehicle safety targets - legal/corporate, industry standard practice etc.
  • Cascade vehicle level targets to subsystem and component level to ensure that they are understood and designed for by the engineers responsible for component release
  • Monitor the delivery of the subsystem and component level targets through the PAT meeting and attendance of necessary PMSTs.
  • Measure and report out the vehicle level performance at gateways
  • Lead the PAT team to deliver safety attribute performance to targets
  • Lead the management of external test houses, restraints component suppliers and engineering consultants to deliver program targets
  • Use the vehicle targets to generate a design verification plan (DVP)
  • Control the vehicle and subsystem safety DVP test and development budget
  • Chair safety PAT meetings
  • Author the vehicle safety Final Engineering Signoff (FESO) document
  • Be a technical leader in rear impact across all AML programs
    Candidate requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Vehicle Safety Systems engineering is preferred
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience of leadership or clear evidence of leadership ability
  • Clear knowledge of fundamental engineering theory
  • Evidence of enthusiasm for the role
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Self starting and self motivated
