Facility Works Officer

The Client has a centre of scientific and technological excellence, with some of the most advanced research, design and production facilities in the world.
They are now looking for a Facility Work Control Centre Officer to provide a Work Control Centre (WCC) service, interfacing with visiting workers and ensuring that work permitted within the facility is carried out by and is supervised by competent persons working under an appropriate safe method of work in accordance with an agreed plan and work authorisation
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a front office role (i.e. customer facing role), preferably in a technical or scientific facility
Experience of working as a WCC preferred

Able to communicate effectively
Good interpersonal skills
Following through to completion of tasks
Use of IT including Microsoft (MS) Office applications
Undertake or demonstrate training in relevant database and software tools
Undertake or demonstrate training and achieve Suitably Qualified Experienced Person (SQEP) accreditation in risk assessment and other relevant assessments
Educated to general GCSE level or equivalent with relevant safety qualification, e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH certificate is preferred
Ideally you will have an Awareness of UK Health and Safety Legislation, Knowledge of Safety Instructions (CSIs) and Safety Procedures (CSPs) in regard to work control and authorisation
Familiarity with databases and Information Technology (IT) systems
