A Powertrain Development Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dagenham, Essex.

Description
Position Description:
Engineering role within a project management team that controls a new engine development program. The role includes project managing the development of the components, sub-systems and completing engine sign-off in-line with deliverables. It includes liaising with functional engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance and vehicle teams to deliver the complete program. It includes creating and managing project delivery plans. It includes tracking project deliverables and control metrics, and producing reports.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Technical and program management experience in the field of engine engineering. Technical knowledge of engine components and development. Self motivated with excellent team and leadership skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to produce management report out metrics and highlight issues. Demonstrated ability to deliver within program constraints and manage change with a can do, positive attitude. Ability to use appropriate quality tools and techniques. PC skills: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.

Skills Preferred:
Ability to liaise with cross-functional teams.

Details
Experience Required:
Experience of major global projects with a demonstrated ability to plan and control. Experience of engine components, systems and materials and production processes used in component manufacture. Experience of product change systems. Knowledge of OEM Global Product Development System.

Education Required:
MSc in Mechanical Engineering, or similar, preferred.
