Principle Design Engineer

Our client is a leading technical supplier to the automotive industry, and sue to exceptional growth plans and current business requirements, they are looking to appoint a Principle Design Engineer who will be required to technically lead design activities within the Vehicle Design department supporting the Engineering function in an exciting and growing working environment.
Projects are likely to be vehicle related, however the variety of our work means that you could be working on non vehicle projects which require technical solutions.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Technical responsibility for Design within the Vehicle Department Technical responsibility for Analysis within the Vehicle Department either through own utilisation of analysis tools, or in conjunction with Analysis engineers to ensure the Design requirements are achieved Responsibility to sign off components design Coaching and supervision of Graduate to senior engineers Technical liaison with customers, suppliers and manufacturing Support the Team Leader, and Chief Engineer in directing the future growth of the Vehicle department within Automotive Technology Support the Chief Engineer in recruitment activities Support the Team Leader and Chief Engineer in writing client quotations Completion of 3D CAD component models and systems Completion of 2D detail drawings of components You are likely to be requested to lead projects; managing the team, budget, and timing Write effective and appropriate reports to document your work.
