Craftsmanship Principal Engineer
Coventry, West Midlands, England

One of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers established for more than 60 years. Its product line-up has more recently moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles. As Craftsmanship Principal Engineer you will lead craftsmanship through from concept to launch of their new product. Aspects of the role include:

  • Lead the development of craftsmanship tools to aid with the successful launch e.g. Benchmarking, auditing, blue buck and eCube Maturation
  • Work with engineering departments in UK/ India to ensure craftsmanship targets are met.
  • Carry out verification builds using blue buck and eCube
  • Support project reviews
    Applicants are required to have the following core skills:
  • Degree qualified or similar qualification.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Automotive Craftsmanship experience is essential
  • Good logical reasoning.
  • Capable of leading a project element with support from senior staff when necessary.
  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge in a relevant technical speciality
  • Be Chartered or working toward Chartered status.
  • Ability to inspire a team to strive for improvements and high customer service.
  • Evidence of achieving results through effective leadership of a team.
  • Capable of managing a group of engineers and supports the Executive Engineers in the delivery of the performance objectives of their group
  • Ability to overcome cultural barriers
  • Regular travel to India is required for this role, could be up to one week per month
