Our client is a successful, expanding and ambitious industrial group with activities in steel, engineering, automotive manufacturing and other diverse business interests. The company is privately owned and annual sales exceed 1 billion.
The Hartlepool site is one of three sites within the business grouping and is an expanding group of businesses that supply forgings and fabrications to a wide variety of markets but in particular the Heavy Truck, Oil, Gas and Energy, Construction Equipment, Rail and General Engineering market sectors from sites in the UK and Poland. This particular role is for the oil, gas and energy sector.
Reporting to the Business Manager Oil, Gas and Energy Sector you will be responsible for assisting in the key objective of winning new business within the sector. You will prepare clear and concise documented enquiry requests to ensure accurate interpretation of customer requirements, co-ordinate the preparation of quotations within agreed format and references and ensure the timely submission of quotations to meet and exceed customer expectations. You will also carry out market research to identify companies where potential exists to capitalise and exploit the skills, processes and capabilities available within the company, develop customer relationships, through an understanding of customer needs, seeking opportunities for product enquiries, presentation and progressing of offerings, monitoring performance against orders, ensuring due date payments and assisting in the maintenance of In House and Customer Delivery Monitors.
You will have sales and marketing experience in an engineering/steel related industry and ideally forging exposure together with a technical competence in an engineering discipline. Knowledge of the Oil and Gas Sector would be a benefit (not a pre-requisite). However you will need a proven new account development and sales generation track record, have a proactive, disciplined, tenacious and self motivated personality with a drive and passion to excel, be ambitious, an analytical team player with well developed presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) and a willingness to travel to meet clients as appropriate.
