Materials Planner

£9 - 12 per hour + Up to 12/hr
Our client handles movement of vehicles and parts for a major automotive manufacturer. They are looking for a Materials Planner initially for a 3 month contract but likely to be continued thereafter.
The role will:
- Manageand monitor the status of ordered parts/materials and (de)expedite delivery of items to meet requirements
- Work through Material Planning checklist daily
- Establish root causes and work to resolve any issues which could affect supply
- escalate where appropriate, any issues/areas needing attention
- Work to KPI`s on
- Availability
- Back Order/Past Due Reduction
- ETA coverage
- Support Supply Team initiatives
- work closely with clients, supply base, customer support, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Operations and Inbound Logistics teams
- Requires prior experience in or knowledge of Manufacturing or Logistics Operations (preferably Automotive)
- Vendor Management skills
- Strong Planning and Organising skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Target driven, persistent and a self-starter
- SAP knowledge desirable but not essential
- Driving Licence holder as occasional visits to suppliers will be required
