Based on a very attractive University campus in Coventry (commutable from Northampton, Daventry, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Leicester, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Birmingham, Redditch, Worcester. Will appeal to candidates in the following locations; Shoreham, Brighton, Peterborough, Huddersfield, London) , this Centre of Excellence in the development of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid and conventional powertrains has an opportunity for a talented Engine 1D and 3D Performance Analyst to join the team. Based on experience this position is being offered at either Senior or Principal Engineer level.
This is a terrific opportunity to become the organisation`s subject expert in 1D and 3D engine analysis.

  • Carry out 1D/3D performance analysis.
  • Use 1D/3D tools to analyse engine systems and provide guidance and solutions
  • Providing gas-side boundary conditions for cooling and structural analysis
  • Ownership and control of models used outside the Engine group
  • Documentation of component and sub-system design guidelines
  • Supporting Engineers with expert advice.
  • Providing guidance to less experienced members of the Analysis team
  • Candidates will need to be prepared to spend circa one week in eight overseas.
  • Degree qualified or similar qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Automotive industry
  • Experience of 1D performance analysis using one or more of the following: AVL Boost, Ricardo WAVE, GT-Power, Lotus software, AmeSim
  • Experience of modelling gasoline and diesel engines, boosting systems (including compound, parallel and series systems)
  • Experience in both steady-state and transient analysis
  • Direct experience of correlating analysis models with physical testing and defining component testing for model correlation purposes
  • Able to setup and run Design Of Experiments (DOE) investigations using the above tools.
