An opportunity has arisen for a Metrologist to work within a major first tier automotive supplier to German and British based OEM`s with injection moulding and assembly on site. Satellite site a few miles away supplies cast and machined components.
As Metrologist you will have the following knowledge and experience:
Mitutoyo CMM
Be familiar with a Mitutoyo Cmm both in writing new programmes or running old programmes using MCOSMOS v3.2, single or multi RPS and use GD and T as indicated on the drawings. Be able to manipulate and align the CAD model as required.

Drawings
Must be able to read a standard part drawing, cut sectional views relevant to the part and measure them on the above equipments. Complete ISIR front sheets and report sheets encompassing all the drawing specifications.

Computers
Must be able to use various Microsoft and specific computer programmes with limited training.
The following knowledge and experience would be an advantage:
Manual DEA measuring machine
Be able to use a Manual DEA measuring machine and set up parts/gauges for direct measuring.

Shadow Graph
Be able to use a Shadow graph and set up parts correctly for direct measurement.

General measuring instruments
Be able to use a variety of hand held instrument, such as Micrometers, Calipers and Slip block sets for direct measurement.

Calibration
Have some knowledge of calibration procedures including a computerised control system as well as general methods of calibrating basic gauges.
