The Role
TRW is delivering leading electrical steering technology to European, Asian and American vehicle manufacturers. We provide our customers with tailor-made solutions for their vehicle launch programmes in global markets.
As the Engineering Team Leader for steering columns, you will be responsible for product development, from concept through to launch, of upper steering column modules for global OEMs. In this role you will lead a multinational team of design and development engineers for Column Drive EPS products.
What you ll do
Requirements Capturing: Working with customer teams to capture and flow-down vehicle manufacturer specifications to component level
Product Design and Development: Leading a team of qualified engineers to generate market-leading innovative solutions
Design Validation and Release: Compile comprehensive validation plans for design release into customer application programmes
Project Management: Develop robust designs to provide minimum re-engineering for future applications
Innovation: Identify future trends and technologies to maintain market competitiveness
What we are looking for
Essential:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Experience in leading a product development team in automotive industry
Self motivated and able to work without direct supervision
Willing to travel globally
Strong customer and supplier facing skills
Desirable:
Second European language
