A Product Development Project Manager is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Basildon, Essex.

Description
Working in a busy automotive product development environment, this department has 5 requirements for Project Managers and Analysts. The successful candidates will project manage the delivery of components or sub systems on a commercial vehicle program. Liaison with programme team, suppliers, manufacturing and purchasing. Manage component validation programme including order and supply of components and arrangement of rig and vehicle test. Analyse internal test standards and create project delivery plans. Project manage a product development team through the development of a new vehicle content on a complex commercial vehicle. This role gives an ideal opportunity to further develop your project management skills working in an exciting cross cultural and cross functional environment.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
The successful candidate will have proven project management skills in the automotive sector. The candidate should also demonstrate good leadership and communication skills to lead a group (drawn from diverse areas such as Engineering, Design, Purchase, Manufacturing, Finance and Marketing) through complex issues to deliver an optimum solution. The candidate should possess the capability to handle wide ranging assignments from senior management presentations to detailed analysis. For the Analyst positions, the client will consider graduate applications from candidates with post graduate experience within an automotive product development environment.

Details
Experience Required:
Experience of Product Change systems and project management process. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a good record of delivery of complex tasks/projects in a technical environment. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate a high level of business acumen and development of project/program business cases/proposals. Experience of developing timing plans with program milestones / gateways and with managing the associated deliverables.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of working in a cross cultural environment would be preferable.

Education Required:
Educated to a minimum of degree level. Computer skills - Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.

Additional Information :
Potential travel to other European / long haul destinations.
