CIPS Qualified Senior Buyer required for a food processing company based in East London

Description
A renowned food processing company based in East London are now looking for a Senior Buyer (CIPS Qualified) to manage resources, activities and systems within the procurement department to meet agreed cost, schedule, quality and safety objectives.
Responsible for the development of procurement systems and procedures to meet internal and customer satisfaction on procurement, expediting, delivery and cost.


Job Requirements
The Senior Buyer main accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Compliance with procurement policy, codes of practice and procedures at national and international levels, including spend analysis.
Implementation and application of Group procurement strategies at national and international levels.
Ensure timely and cost effective contracts are produced, negotiated and awarded.
Identify Suppliers that provide value and products of technical compliance.
Validate supplier value through trials and visits to supplier premises.
Issue tender enquiries, analyse and evaluate bids.
Assist Commercial Manager to prepare, negotiate and award term contracts and agreements through SAP.
Prepare and issue purchase orders through SAP.
Lead the review process for the critical suppliers/items looking for cost reduction, improvement of efficiency improvements.
Manage complaints procedures with Suppliers.
Negotiate revisions to supplier agreements as required.
Develop relationships with other procurement managers.
Management of the company's shipping and related resources.
Manage R&D Manager’s procurement needs.


Details
The successful applicant will be a Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS)
Demonstrable skills and experience in procurement contracts for Vendors.
Experience in producing procurement contracts for Suppliers.
High level of IT skills including MS Office Suite and SAP system knowledge.
Procurement analytical skills.
Well developed inter-personal, administration and communication skills.
Responsible individual with ability to provide procurement services to a number of projects teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
Basic understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, instrument and control engineering disciplines.
Ability to motivate team members
