Manufacturing Engineer
Scunthorpe, England
£30k - 35k per year
A major supplier of automotive interior and exterior systems and components, requires an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their expanding team due to a sustained growth in orders
Main Duties
-Coordinate the activities in the area of program engineering and design in conjunction with the manager of the program engineering and design department
-Establish and develop plans to support launch of new products
-Improve efficiencies in process and equipment and identify potential cost saving projects
-Project manage new product launch across the plant to ensure launch is within budget and on time
-Assist Product Engineer with feasibility in relation with the production equipment
-Work with Product and Material Development teams along with external suppliers
-Generate the equipment specifications for new equipment
-Support sales team with technical support which includes both internal and external presentations to explain manufacturing processes
Skills and Experience
-Candidates should be educated to degree level in related engineering disciplines or equivalent experience
-Previous experience from a high volume automotive or related development engineering is preferred
-Project Management experience
-Demonstrated good presentation skills
-Candidates will have the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
-Should be fully conversant with automotive quality tools and systems; these should include QS9000, ISO14001 and TS16949, supported by excellent organisational and communicational skills.
