A Product Definition Analyst is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Essex.
Description
The Product Definition Group is part of MP&L. One of the roles performed by Product Definition is to create and maintain Product Definition plans for every vehicle line. These plans communicate the PDL and GEMSL required by dates in order to support Job #1 table set up, pricing actions, pre-builds and capacity planning/purchase to all of the downstream activities including Marketing and MP&L. This position involves: Creating and maintaining the Product Definition plans in line with the latest vehicle program timings; Set up and run vehicle line meetings as required to support the Product Definition timing plan creation; Attend pricing meetings and maintain the pricing schedule on behalf of the pricing activity;...Continued.
Job Requirements
Update and issue of internal Product Definition work plans (ACM codification Project plan, 60 day look ahead and Master Schedule); Attend PDL prioritization meetings and ensure that all agreed PDL timings support the Product Definition plans; Monitor PDL availability for new model programs and major model years and advise Management of any slippage in availability. Additional tasks include: Compilation of data to support the Product Definition score card; Update of business processes and Golden Rules if required; Support of ongoing IT and business projects as required.
Skills Required:
The selected individual would be expected to be of a conscientious and methodical nature with good problem solving capabilities. They must also work well in a team environment and be enthusiastic and flexible. Good analytical skills and written/verbal communications to enable the participant to articulate the complex nature of product direction issues.

Experience Required:
MS Project. Work planning skills and understanding of critical time-lines essential. Good verbal and written communication. Computer skills including operational knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel essential. Understanding of WERS and the related program implementation and control processes useful but not essential. Knowledge of GEMSL (Marketing Specification List) system preferable. Use of analytical IT systems an advantage. Some business Knowledge/experience to facilitate the product analyst aspect of the position.
Education Required:
Degree 2:1 or higher, in relevant field or subject.
