An Vehicle Safety Test Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Whitley, West Midlands.

Description
Vehicle Safety Test Engineer. Crash test engineer, to be able to conduct full vehicle crash and sled testing for front, side and rear modes, review and present test data and compile reports. Should be able to write crash test specifications for vehicle and sled testing. Understand and interpret legislative regulations, test procedures, instrumentation and dummy requirements.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Perform crash and sled tests at off site facilities. Work independently and as part of an extended team with suppliers. Familiar with crash test protocols for consumer and legal standards.

Skills Preferred:
Familiar with Crash CAE, test protocols, test laboratories. Knowledge of/experience with FARO 3 dimensional measurement systems. Understanding of test data collection and interpretation methods.

Experience Required:
Applicants should be familiar with Vehicle Safety testing activities, legal and consumer safety standards. The applicant should be familiar with aspects of vehicle architecture.

Experience Preferred:
The applicant should have a knowledge of Legislative requirements and procedures. Practical experience of crash and sled testing.

Education Required: Higher National Diploma.

Education Preferred:
Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Maths, Systems Engineering, Physics, or other relevant field/subject.

Additional Information:
Role is based at Whitley, involves work at the Gaydon site, and testing at Mira and Millbrook.
