Our client is a leading technical supplier to the automotive industry, and due to exceptional growth plans and current business requirements, they are looking to appoint a Technical Buyer as such we welcome applicant who meet the criteria below:

In this role you will source the correct products at the right time and price in line with approved requests, the business plan and predicted stock levels. To provide guidance on purchasing tasks, stock control and logistics to buyers and expeditors.

  • Place purchase orders for drawn and non drawn components in line with requirements generated via the business MRP system and manual requirements generated via the relevant authorised supervisors/Project release process.
  • Negotiate all terms and conditions, in line with the business operating procedures ensuring the best total acquisition costs.
  • Continually monitor suppliers to ensure cost, quality and delivery adherence. Using business vendor rating system as a tool for measuring delivery and quality.
  • Provide information and support as required to the Senior Technical Buyer, departmental managers and other internal customers. This will include but not be limited to delivery dates and pricing for products required
  • Ensure all relevant ISO9001 procedures are adhered to.
  • To be capable of presenting commercial information which enables sourcing decisions to be made, whilst identifying potential risks To be successful in this role you will have precious experience of purchasing in a batch prototype or production environment with a preferred background of sourcing interior/exterior trim components for the automotive industry.

    You will be able to evaluate and analyse the estimated cost of specific parts if requested, have a good understanding of what type of process is required to manufacture specific components and have a strong commercial skillset with the ability to understand and draft supply contracts.

    Ideally you will be CIPS qualified with excellent IT skills
