A Performance, Economy and Driveability Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Description
As a vehicle attribute team Performance, Economy and Driveability (PED) support the annual task of futuring competitor PED attributes in support of technology strategy and target setting. Furthermore the PED team own the cross car-line FE & CO2 database. The key tasks of the position will be to develop and maintain various databases containing information on Competitor current and futured FE/CO2/performance and information on key CO2 technologies. An additional task will be to support specific departmental FE/CO2 delivery process improvement projects.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Good data analysis and processing skills. Excel and Virtual Basic programming skills and an interest in database management. Knowledge and understanding of current and future Fuel Economy/CO2 technologies including our client’s Competitors. Being able to contribute as part of a team. Written and verbal communication skills including good knowledge of MS PowerPoint.

Skills Preferred:
Oracle or Access database programming skills may be of benefit. Flexibility to work on many varied tasks, covering both brands and on either Gaydon or Whitley sites.

Details
Experience Required:
A background, track record and interest in engine and or vehicle FE/CO2 development - experience in developing and maintaining a large data sets and manipulating/processing data.

Experience Preferred:
Vehicle PED attribute testing and measurement.

Education Required:
An Higher National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

Education Preferred:
Candidates from other industries may be considered depending on knowledge and experience.

Additional Information:
Work will be required at both Whitley and Gaydon sites.
