A Vehicle Safety Sensing Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Description
The position is to support Vehicle Safety in delivering the sensing targets for front, side, rollover and rear algorithms. The role requires the applicant to have an understanding of Vehicle Safety Sensing systems, to package sensors and Restraint Control Module, prepare sensing requirements for testing, download and process data and algorithm development with supplier.
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Knowledge of Vehicle Safety Sensing systems. Work independently and as part of an extended team with suppliers. Familiar with crash test protocols for consumer and legal standards. Instrumentation, Data conversion, Basic analysis of collected data.
Skills Preferred:
Familiar with Crash CAE, test protocols, test laboratories. Knowledge of/experience of Vehicle Safety Sensing Systems. Understanding of test data collection, conversion and interpretation methods.

Experience Required:
Applicants should be familiar with Vehicle Safety testing activities, legal and consumer safety standards. The applicant should be familiar with aspects of vehicle architecture. Understanding of test data collection, conversion and interpretation methods.
Experience Preferred:
The applicant should have knowledge of Legislative requirements and procedures. Practical experience of crash and sled testing. A basic understanding of restraint systems.
Education Required:
Higher National Diploma in relevant field/subject.
Education Preferred:
Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Maths, Systems Engineering, Physics, or other relevant field/subject.
Additional Information:
Role is based primarily at Whitley and involves work at Gaydon site.
