A Terrain Response Application Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Ability to calibrate powertrain, gearbox and chassis systems to deliver torque characteristics and chassis system settings to optimise vehicle performance over different terrains and driving conditions. :
Supporting the creation of technical specifications, development plans etc.:
Sign off of systems and creation of sign off reports. :
Liaison with other process partners including Design, Purchase, Project Team, Manufacturing, Powertrain, V/Dynamics, Electrical, Marketing/PR etc.:
Testing/development of systems in various environments/territories both within the UK & overseas.

Details
Experience Required:
Experience in the development of complex integrated vehicle systems. Experience in Matlab/Simulink and a willingness to learn other CAE packages. Self motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of antilock brake and other electronic slip control systems would be advantageous. Experience of developing vehicles in an off road environment. Experience of Powertrain and/or Transmission calibration would be advantageous. Flexible approach and able to work beyond normal hours when required. Above average and demonstrated driving skills with aptitude to further develop, particularly with reference to driving off road and understanding the dynamics involved in off road driving.

Education Required:
Degree in Mechanical, Electronics or Automotive Engineering, or similar field/subject.

Additional Information:
Candidates will be expected to support testing in global locations as required. Based at Gaydon. Test locations in UK, Europe, USA, and Dubai.
