A Buyer with experience of import/export controls is required by our client who is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.
As Buyer / Export Control Officer you will source and evaluate suppliers, determine appropriate methods, best practice, processes and policies for product purchase to minimise transaction costs, optimise value and minimise risk, produce appropriate bid documentation e.g. ITT or RFQ and invite, evaluate and negotiate offers and rate and monitor suppliers` performance. For your export and import control activities you will implement, maintain and enforce an effective system of export control compliance for company products and technology, support communication of and training in export control regulations, determine requirements for export authorisations and apply for such authorisations/licences and implement internal processes to ensure compliance.
Essentially, you will be a part qualified Graduate Member of the CIPS or equivalent. Ideally, you will have experience of procurement or export control within an engineering environment with typically, 3/5 years post qualification experience. You will also have experience of large capital projects and indirect purchasing. Working knowledge of MRP and export compliance would be an advantage.
