The Supply Chain Team is responsible for managing supplier performance into the Peterborough facility to support each of the 1100 and 1200 series assembly tracks. Its primary objective is uninterrupted material flow in line with our Plan for Every Part strategy whilst meeting our Inventory Turns target. The Supply Chain Team design flow-processes, design containerisation for delivery, manage supplier relationships, issue material schedules and monitor schedule adherence, complete regular capacity reviews versus forecast demand and engage Suppliers as appropriate to address any performance issues / capacity gaps.
An opportunity has arisen within the Supply Chain team for Logistics Engineer. This role is to lead Supply Chain/ logistics improvements, and support the ongoing operation of assembly processes including Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and to support our Mach 1 Business Transformation journey. Further responsibility will be to participate and contribute to business improvement projects for the Supply Chain department.
This role is ideal for those with a background in the Logistics and Supply Chain discipline or a manufacturing engineering background.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
Experience and knowledge of lean supply chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment, Parts Global network material flow, packaging, containerization, supplier planning requirements/parameters, and safety
Competent MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word PC skills
Excellent Communication and Team Working Skills
Previous experience in a logistics engineer / manufacturing engineer role
Desirable:
Experience of MFG/PRO (Cat systems) or SAP
Professional Supply Chain accreditation / relevant University Degree is advantageous
Successful candidate would ideally possess advanced analytical skills and 6 Sigma project management principles as a green belt
Ability to use autoCAD would be advantageous
