Senior Simulation and Modelling Engineer

Our client is a leading clean power systems company. Their proprietary clean fuel and clean power technologies provide solutions to the difficult environmental and energy supply challenges being faced by governments and industry.


Design, implement, validate and document simulations (numerical models) for Fuel Cell Systems, Fuel Cell and Components. Develop the numerical models using Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow alongside other simulation tools. The models will be used for control strategy verification and performance forecasting. Work closely with other disciplines/teams (RandT, hardware and engineering project teams) to ensure models and/or outputs meet the desired requirements, and to obtain correct validation data etc.

• Technical evaluation of allocated project activities, identify problem areas and deviations and clarify these through effective communication with the project manager and customer s engineers.
• Development of simulations/numerical models of fuel cell systems, fuel cells and the system components.
• Development of component plant models for the validation of control strategies.
• Development of additional models (eg vehicle) for the evaluation of fuel cell system controls.
• Liaise with all company departments, customer s representatives and sub-vendors in order to meet all contractual and specification requirements and to co-ordinate project activities.
• Prepare project documentation as required. Including Functional Specification, Software design documents, User manuals, and reports.
