Our Client manufactures Precision machined components for the Aerospace industry

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

To provide direction, support, guidance to the Sales & Customer Services team, with responsibility in ensuring customer deadlines & expectations are met, & the management of special customer projects.

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure that the company meets and exceeds customer expectations, and delivers upon agreed KPI’s both internal & external

Inter-alia, this will include responsibility for :-

  • To win new business & identify new customers that will facilitate achievement of both Sales & Profit targets
  • To Project manage new work packages and /or quote packages
  • To provide statistical data to the Senior management through agreed KPI’s
  • The maintenance of customer relationships through visits and day to day communication

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure the highest standards of integrity, liability, availability, the efficiency of the Sales  function and its relationship with its customers.

  • Day to day management of the team in conjunction with the Sales Team Supervisor, ensuring that daily meetings are held, and that all time conscious activities are completed.
  • Creation & management of daily Sales KPI’s, to include Sales ‘Measurement of Performance’s’, quote win ratio, and sales vs. budget analysis.
  • Team training, including generation of individual training plans & annual sales team appraisals, to hold annual ‘Sales Team away days’, in which you will be expected to prepare and facilitate presentations to the team.
  • Facilitation of Customer visits, both at site and at customer facilities, to include the organisation of all travel plans, generation of PowerPoint presentation, and the presentation of said content.
  • To ensure Customers are kept fully apprised of the status of their work by working with the Customer Service Administrator, also to agree delivery KPI’s with the team and ensure that the agreed targets are met.
  • To prepare & attend weekly Sales meetings, to include the running of quote KPI’s, generation and distribution of the quotes open & quotes over £10,000 report to . Management and Group Sales & Business Development teams.
  • To provide regular information on key customer accounts, quotations and new sales opportunities to the Business Development Director.
  • To attend various customer sites to help maintain good business relationship and customer knowledge.
  • The management of key customer projects or orders, & to ensure that expectations of both the business & customer are met.
  • To provide & manage unsociable hours support to the business, to meet the expectations of the customer.
  • To win new business & to identify new customers to assist in the achievement of sales & profit targets, in association with the help of the Business Development Director.
  • Generation of customer visit reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You must  demonstrate:

  • Experience in effective Sales negotiation of sales contracts
  • Accessibility and a flexible approach to travel and working (including at times unsociable and unpredictable hours)
  • Technical understanding of Precision Engineered components.
·         That you are a “do-er” rather than a delegator
  • That you are a good communicator and a team player
  • Gravitas to earn the respect of and interact effectively with senior management
  • The ability to challenge, using a blend of intellect and commercial experience
·         Success against tight deadlines
·         The ability to work without supervision
  • Staff management skills
  • A working level of IT hands-on literacy
  • High degree of professionalism/work pride

  • A good sense of humour

It is desirable that you also demonstrate:

  • Experience of the aerospace /engineering sector
  • Involvement in a business that is strongly focused on profit and cash generation
