Brakes Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer
Skills Required:
CFD tool usage including Model preparation in CAD, Meshing and Post-Processing. Applicants should be trained in use of at least one of the following CFD tools. Working knowledge of Star CCM+ and EXA PowerFlow. Excellent team working and team leadership skills and adaptability are essential since the candidate will be working as part of a multi-discipline vehicle level team who may require support and involvement with their own activities. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to carry out tasks unsupervised once defined. Applicants require basic understanding of vehicle cooling system requirements. Basic braking systems knowledge required. Good understanding and working knowledge of external/underhood vehicle fluid mechanics.
Skills Preferred:
Ability to use OEM preferred CFD tool set (PowerFlow) and associated pre-processing tools (ANSA). The ability to present at all levels within the company without detailed mentoring along with a good team-working approach to tasks.
Experience Required:
Successful history as a CFD engineer for a major OEM or supplier including meshing, analysis and report out.
Experience Preferred:
CAE skills to manage and feasibly run models independently. Reporting analysis results and recommendations to vehicle programme teams.
Education Required:
Degree qualified in a suitable discipline, but previous experience is core to this role.
