Client Information
A leading manufacturer of fasteners for a wide range of applications including automotive, bus, rail, truck and trailer, construction and general manufacturing. Much of the product range is bespoke and designed/developed within the company.
Main Duties
The main areas of responsibilities of the role are to provide technical project management support for the engineering department - planning, organising, controlling, integrating and completing engineering projects, whilst also working alongside the sales team to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
Job description
-Prioritise and effectively manage incoming enquiries from the customer base working closely with the design and production teams to evaluate efficient manufacturing methods to meet customer requirement
-Work as a point of contact between the customer, engineering department in aspects of design, tooling qualification and production capability
-Responds to technical product information demands from sales team, marketing department and customers
-Analyse customer requirements in terms of material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, production capability and tooling costs to determine feasibility
-Develop and conduct trials to evaluate product performance in pre production before full production begins
-Ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications and drawings
-Co-ordination with the sales and marketing team to develop and implement methods for accurately assessing customer satisfaction levels..
-Visit strategic customers, establish and increase our position in correlation with their projects and goals. Help external sales with engineering information in preparing their customer visits and attend if requested.
-Use academic links to universities, institutes and organisations to promote the copanies technology and gain knowledge for our projects about trends in technique and applications
-Maintain and develop links with Technical Service function across the group of businesses
-Maintain and operate in compliance with current Quality and EHS procedures
Key skills and experience
-Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline, although relevant work experience of qualified to HND would be accepted
-Should have industry based engineering experience with experience of managing complex projects in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and experience of Multi-disciplined Engineering activities, i.e. Systems , Manufacturing, Product and Automation
