One of the world's leading Automotive manufacturers, established for more than 60 years, is seeking to expand its team of 250 engineers and specialists over the next 2-3 years at its attractive Warwick University based European Technical Centre.
They are currently seeking to recruit a Water Leaks Leader on a 6 month contract basis.
Working as part of the Variability Reduction Team (VRT) and reporting to the Chief Project Engineer, the individual will be responsible for the following:
- Working with the plant vehicle team to resolve all water leak issues through to launch, more specifically, water leaks over the whole vehicle (body, around glazing, closures etc).
- Picking up AIMS queries, conducting root cause analysis and developing fixes. The root cause analysis can be both experimental and theoretical.
- Ensure all VRT water leak activities and objectives are fulfilled.
- Support engineering deliverables through to engineering sign off of the vehicle.
This role will require travel between sites and workshops within the Warwickshire area.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree qualified or similar qualification
- Minimum of 5 years automotive experience is essential.
- Must have either VRT experience or engineering in body, exterior trim or closures as a minimum.
- Must be adaptable
- Strong numeracy and literacy
- Capable of complex problem solving
- Experience of DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, APQP, Support Plans, AIMS etc.
- Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge in a relevant technical specialty
- Flexibility to apply themselves to a wide variety of tasks as required.
