Working for a lead engineer to support the build and problem management of the powertrain element of prototype and subsequent builds. This position is dual location, supporting VP build at Browns Lane in Coventry and subsequently at Halewood Liverpool. The role includes progress chasing, project management, specification validation and solution of any issues as they present themselves. Launch spike avoidance is a substantial part of the role, ensuring previous lessons have been embedded in new product design and processes. There are practical elements to the role as well as administration. The role is fast moving and exciting and is an opportunity to become involved in the early phases of the creation of new vehicles for a lead UK manufacturer.

Skills Required:
Strong communication skills and team working at all levels, eager and willing to engage with issues in a fast moving environment and ability to engage team in solution of issues. Adaptability is a requisite within this environment as priorities change very quickly. A practical ability is an advantage as containments have to be instigated quickly in a production environment.

Skills Preferred:
Good overall powertrain knowledge. Computer literate. Valid UK driving licence. Knowledge of quality tools FMEA, 8D etc.

Experience Required:
Previous new product launch experience would be an advantage. Knowledge of powertrain vehicle systems, problem solving and project management. The role would suit a recent graduate or an experienced practising technician.

Education Required:
It is anticipated that applicants will be educated to degree level in an engineering or automotive discipline. However, candidates with significant powertrain experience will be considered.

Additional Information:
Support required for powertrain element of prototype builds starting in September at Browns Lane. Ideally candidate would start in July to prepare for September build at Browns Lane. The role is Launch support for Powertrain to be initially residing at Browns Lane, and to later support Halewood builds.
