Electrical Engineer

Our client is a precision low volume high performance vehicle manufacturer. They are currently seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineer on a 6 month contract basis.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the individual will be responsible for the following:
- Monitor, manage and continually enhance the PMS (Power Management System) and provide energy reports.
- Fully understand electrical network agreement and prevent power outs from external energy provider.
- Manage the ongoing operation and maintenance requirements for all electrical systems and HV requirements.
- Pursue the Facilities Engineering electrical strategy for the buildings and to maximise your synergies, experience and knowledge to pursue best practise, maximise value and demonstrate real savings by these measures
- All aspects of the following Facilities Engineering Electrical services:
* High Voltage site network:- Fully understand the complexity of the network, upgrades and enhancements to the system, switching programes and continual training of HV staff unfamiliar with the regular reviews of the network and switching operations to a safe working environment for all HV and non HV trained staff who need access to the sites various sub-stations
* Power Management System (PMS):- Fully understand the complexity and interelationship of this system and working closely with the site Controls Engineer for upgrades and enhancements to the system inclusive of the Mains Active Restoring Systems (MARS)
* Building Management System (BMS): Working closely with the site Controls Engineer for upgrades and enhancements to the system
* All other electrical systems for buildings infrastructure and production machines: Generate up-to-date documentation and labelling systems for each sub-system, this should include AutoCad and PDF formats, update labelling conventions, summary drawings to be mounted close to electrical panels and sub-stations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- ONC, HNC, HND or Bachelors Degree in an Electrical Engineering
- HV switching experience
- Schneider electrical distribution systems, SEPAM and PM750 meters
- At least five years of experience within in a Plant/Facilities Engineering or in a production environment or a related development environment
- At least five years of experience of delivering complex projects across many engineering disciplines
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, highly dynamic and constantly demanding environment
- Proven ability to successfully manage, control the scope, and deliver complex electrical projects
- Ability to calmly trouble shoot and deliver convincing, value money solutions to tight deadlines
- Highly?professional, well presented, articulate and confident personality
- Enthusiastic, self-driven, highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude
- Strong?analytical skills, particularly in strategic system analysis
- Methodical, first principals approach
- Highly organised with strong time and project management experience
- Retain a flexible approach and demonstrate crisis management skills
- Able to work a flexible shift pattern as dictated by business needs
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:
- Siemens Desigo experience, Schneider MARS experience and Eaton (MEM) electrical distribution systems
- Conversant with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP
- Experience in controls design and project management
- Experience of AutoCAD
- Flexible and adaptable to change
