Finance and Administrative Assistant

£14.30 - 14.30 per hour

The department is responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, planning, monitoring and provision of all engineering (physical and financial) resources to support the business" tactical and strategic operations. The department is also responsible for the development of core business processes, including the generation of synthetics for planning purposes. The department also acts as a central support area to both APC and Research community liaising directly with finance, purchasing, HR and other COC"s within PD.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintain day to day records required by the Factory Manager/Business Planning function, examples: Function and Department headcount tracking documents, Overtime records by function and Dept, Travel approvals vs plan, spend requests/approvals i.e. CORAs and Agency requests, etc.
- Maintain the RADs database system for headcount.
- Raise CORA's and monitor status.
- Carryout analysis of data and produce reports and metrics, examples: BSC and KPI metrics/reports.
- Support all Business planning activities as required.
- Co-ordinate and compile annual budgets with all departments.
- Maintain all departmental tracking documents.
- Maintain/update departmental processes.

Skills Required:
Must be PC literate, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc. Advanced level of numeric and analytical skills using Excel is desirable. Ability to prioritise work. Able to analyse problems and develop effective solutions. Must have good, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment, flexibility, self-motivation for the role are necessary attributes for this position. Knowledge of business and budgeting/forecasting processes.

Skills Preferred:
To travel to/from main work location and to attend meetings on other sites, a current full driving license will be advantageous.

Experience Required:
Experience of working in an office environment with tight deadlines, working with people at all levels of an organisation from shop floor to Director level.

Education Preferred:
Degree in Business Studies or business related discipline.

Additional Information:
May be required to attend meetings at Whitley or University of Warwick.
