An Electrical Launch Project Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Merseyside.
Description
Launch Engineer supporting Electrical Launch Leader to deliver robust electrical systems for launch. The role establishes the vital link between Product Development and the manufacturing environment and involves interfacing with many other departments & disciplines. The successful candidate will: Support and attend meetings and reviews. Coordinate and drive problem resolution and appropriate containments via AIMS and associated reviews. Coordinate and support electrical component and vehicle re-work activities. Coordinate and support parts validation and software integration activities. Coordinate and support PD-related Right First Time and First Time Through investigations.
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Vehicle diagnostic skills, including ability to use laptop-based diagnostic tools e.g. CANalyser. Ability to assimilate and process large quantities of data. Willingness and ability to present and report out to all Management levels. Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A good team player. Ability to work in high-pressure environment and to challenging deadlines. Highly organised. Good communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Able to build relationships with suppliers. Self motivated & enthusiastic with a proactive approach. Able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision. Creative in solving problems.
Details
Experience Required:
Knowledge and experience of automotive electrical systems. Experience of vehicle production facility.
Experience Preferred:
Experience of working as part of a vehicle production facility as electrical engineer in launch or current engineering. Knowledge and experience of OEM processes and methods (e.g. AIMS, WERS, FMS). Knowledge of software control plans.
Education Required:
Educated to either a HND or Degree level is preferred.
Additional Information:
Candidate must be willing and able to support flexible working hours during launch phases to meet operational requirements. Launch role is Halewood based but will require regular travel to the Midlands for training purposes, to support early launch phases in pilot plant, and to maintain regular face-to-face contact with engineering team.
