Our client is one of the world`s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Established for more than 60 years its product line-up has, more recently, moved into the design and manufacture of passenger cars, including electric vehicles.
Main Tasks:
*Timely processing of purchase order requests and issuing
*Monitor and report performance of purchasing line with finance department and customer focussed performance metrics.
*Develop preferred supplier list
*Help establish target list of key purchase commodity groups and through negotiation and supplier management obtain best value on major procurement of:
- Engineering services
- Electrical and electronic components and systems
- Manufactured metal work (Cast - machine - pressed)
*Obtaining appropriate quotations
*Running of RFQ tender process
Core requirements:
* Degree or purchasing diploma qualification
*Membership of a professional body (CIPS) or equivalent
*Effective negotiation, analytical and evaluation skills
*Sound commercial and financial awareness
*Experience of procurement on an international basis would be desirable
Travel to suppliers in the UK and Europe as required with occasional travel to India when requested
