This company leads the world in integrated engine and powertrain solutions from clean sheet design concept through castings, manufacture and vehicle installation to calibration, onboard diagnostics and telemetry.
They are looking to appoint a Senior Principal Design Engineer - Diesel to coordinate and supervise projects undertaken by the company requiring the use of Diesel specific Design and Verification know-how.
- Technical responsibility for all Diesel projects with support from Diesel Department Head
- Internal RandD project management
- Planning and initiating RandD projects and proposals
- University liaison and supervision
- Technical paper coordination
- Prepare and approve technical presentations
- Support other team members
- Define, modify implement and authorise processes within the Group
- Support business development opportunities
Candidates will: - Possess at least a first degree in Engineering, and be of Chartered status
- Demonstrable capability of leading/managing a team involved in diesel engine research or development
- Have at least 10 years relevant Diesel engine experience in powertrain engineering
- Knowledge of Diesel Design and Verification and appropriate toolsets
- Confident communicator, both written and oral
- self motivated, both with attention to timescales and detail
- Appreciation of customer requirements
- Able to travel to external organisations and congresses as required
