Our client is looking to recruit a Electrical Infotainment and Driver Information Engineer.



Department

Electrical Engineering is responsible for the design and development of vehicle electrical systems. Within the Electrical department the driver information and infotainment teams are responsible for delivering all aspects of vehicle instrument clusters, infotainment, and clocks.
Driving the delivery process in the design, development and implementation of instrument cluster, and infotainment systems.

Working with design and HMI to ensure the driver experience is feasible and deliverable within the programme cost and timing requirements whist still delivering an exciting, intuitive and high precision driver environment.

Design, development and delivery of a bespoke infotainment and driver information architecture.

Working with the component owners and electrical integrator to ensure specifications meet all requirements this involves close liaison with other engineers and departments to understand and develop system interfaces, performance requirements, legal aspects, styling, ergonomics and night time illumination.

Manage the delivery of all style guides, illumination and HMI specifications into the department to support commodity timing requirements.

Acting as an interface to suppliers, from initial RFQ to full production and coach any suppliers new to automotive to ensure products meet all automotive standards.

Develop and document processes to support new technology deployment, where they do not already exist.
Knowledge and understanding of vehicle infotainment systems

Knowledge and understanding of instrument clusters

Ability to work at the forefront of technology and find robust implementation solutions

Understanding of whole vehicle electrical systems with a broad appreciation of the vehicle systems that interface to the instrument cluster, such as Chassis, Brakes and Powertrain
Ability to work at the forefront of technology and find robust implementation solutions

Understanding of whole vehicle electrical systems with a broad appreciation of the vehicle systems that interface to the instrument cluster, such as Chassis, Brakes and Powertrain

Ability to lead the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment

Flexibility to work across multiple project sites as required

Able to demonstrate good project management experience and a track record of successful project delivery.

Educated to degree level.

Excellent communication skills, PC literate, especially MS office

Excellent presentation skills

Full driving Licence
