Civil and Infrastructure Project Engineer

Operating for over 100 years now, this global operation and leading prestige automotive manufacture requires a civil and infrastructure project engineer to design, specify and manage the delivery of changes to the civil and mechanical infrastructure. Provision of technical support to the technologies and other business functions for planning and development.
Responsible for the strategic planning of future requirements to meet business needs.
Develop and write civil and infrastructure specifications for projects
Liaise with maintenance teams and other departments for approval of specifications.
Liaise with Purchase department on supplier selection.
Issue enquiries through approved tender process .
Project manage civil / multi discipline content of site projects with a team of engineers / contractors / consultants as required.
Approve design work by consultants .
Control installation and commissioning of projects / contracts.
Ensure that projects are constructed / installed
Ensure projects comply with all legislation
Monitor the construction / installation on a daily basis and carry out end of project analysis.
Involve maintenance team in snagging process and ensure all snags are complete prior to handover.
Prepare budgets and timings for new projects.
Provide technical support for technologies and other business functions .
Project planning and cost estimating ability.
Technical knowledge for investigations and specifications.
Competence in Civil works (e.g. groundwork s, building technology, fit out, underground services etc.)
Competence in Infrastructure mechanical services.
Understanding of electrical infrastructure services.
Proven ability for Contractor control and management for installation.
Familiar with Local Authorities Planning and Building Control approval requirements
Competence in basic IT tools e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, e-mail.
Competence in the use of BMW financial control tools (SAP and ABO)
Competence in basic drawing CAD drawing skills (Microstation)
Understanding of HandS, CDM, Environmental and other related legal and statuary issues
