An ECU Powertrain Software Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Essex.

Description
Responsible for designing ECU strategies for the global Diesel engine team using Matlab tools and the Feature Requirements Document (FRD) process. Responsible for developing production implementations of features, using a model based development approach, with Matlab and dSpace tools. Responsible for integration of hand C coded features and model based auto-coded features. Responsible for supporting rapid prototyping of new strategies and validation of fully implemented strategies.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Fundamental understanding of automotive control systems. Fundamental understanding of system and software design. Significant engine control strategy & software design experience.

Details
Experience Required:
Strategy simulation/modelling experience (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow). Experience with both hand C code and auto-generated C code. Experience with scripting (e.g. Perl, Java, jscript, html, Matlab, Python, etc). Experience with dSpace, Targetlink etc. Experience with rapid prototyping systems (e.g. DSpace, ETAS, ATI-NoHooks, X-PC).

Experience Preferred:
Experience with Agile software development methods and tools (e.g. AccuRev, Rally) or other SCM and planning tools (e.g. PVCS, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Subversion, etc).

Education Required:
Engineering Degree to BEng/BSc or higher, ideally with significant Electronics and/or software content.
