Principal Design Engineer

Our client acquires, develops and applies new ideas and improved components to support their customer s products. They also offer design, development, manufacture and software services and products to the aerospace, space, energy and transport industries.
Main Responsibilities will be:
Carry out assigned tasks on time, to the required quality and within budget
Liaise with other departments/groups to achieve project objectives
Component ownership and control of tasks including spend and identifying need for budget/contract revisions.
Direct contact with customers, partners and suppliers
Formal and informal presentations to internal and external customers
Writing reports and proposals
The ideal person will have a good mechanical or aerospace engineering degree as well as:-
Good understand and application of engineering principles and manufacturing techniques
Technical experience of :
- solid mechanics and dynamics
- metallic materials design and selection
- manufacturing environment and technology
- conceptual layout
- externals
- and rotating machinery
