Our client is involved in Precision Air and Land Systems. An opportunity has arisen for a Production Planner. The role will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for managing the master production schedule.
You will work with the team leaders to develop production plans based on customer demand and business forecast, undertake scheduling of shop orders in line with sales forecast and capacity, provide capacity analysis for team leaders, liaise with team leaders and procurement to ensure timely planning of parts against system due date, monitor and process internal shop orders, analyse production and procurement lead times to ensure customer requirements can be met, provide feedback to production, commercial, quality and procurement on areas that may affect quality, cost or delivery, work with engineering and NPIT to ensure a smooth transition of new products and latest standard parts into production ensuring minimal schedule and cost disruption and monitor on time delivery of OE, spares and repairs items. You will also manage rejection of parts and repair items through the IFS system and attend regular production meetings and provide progress feedback.
It is essential you have previous experience of material requirements planning in a make to order and project environment. You must be computer literate; experienced in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint office tools, be able to influence and support key business stakeholders and challenge current embedded culture and ways of working. You will also need experience of managing MRP parameters, including lead time fences, planning horizons and phantom assemblies to ensure shortest possible lead times through production and supply chain.
