Product Design Engineer
Basildon, Essex, England

A world leader in the agricultural and construction equipment business are now looking for a Product Design Engineer to be responsible for the design, development and production release of the cab.

Ideally the Product Design Engineer will have proven experience in the design and development of Cab mounting and suspension components and systems for off highway vehicles.

As the Product Design Engineer you will lead a team of Design Engineers and Engineering Consultants in the design of the cab for agricultural products globally.

Liaise with other locations within the Cab Competence Centre with particular reference to these components.

Establish design concepts based on customer requirements for the cab and convert these into CAD layouts and engineering drawings.

Carry out strength, durability or performance analysis as required.
Complete a failure mode effect analysis for each system.

Set up the Engineering Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOM) parts lists and issue Engineering detail and assembly drawings for production release.

Liaise with Purchase, Suppliers, Manufacturing and After Sales Service to ensure cost effective quality products are achieved and maintained.

Lead meetings and Design Reviews.

The successful Product Design Engineer will hold a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with proven experience or an HND with solid experience.

Ideally you will have experience in the design of components and systems employing both mechanical and electrical components for the agricultural or a related industry.

Proven Project Management skills.

CAD system proficiency is essential.

Experience of Co-Design with suppliers and outside consultancies.

High level of computer literacy is essential.



An additional European language would be an advantage.
