An HMI Developer/Researcher is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Description
HMI Developer/Researcher: For automotive infotainment systems, take responsibility for the development and validation of the Graphical User Interface. i.e. develop a strategy for user-trials, design/set-up/carry-out the user-trials, analyse the results and feedback recommendations to the HMI Attribute and Development teams. Ensure adherence to relevant standards/strategies and participate in problem resolution. Conduct benchmarking of automotive competitors and consumer electronics devices. Produce formal reports and deliver to programme timing requirements.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Ability to design and execute effective usability trials and analyse the result. Sound understanding of good HMI & ergonomic design principles for vehicle systems user-interfaces. Statistical analysis, problem solving & root-cause analysis. Clear and concise communicator. Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.

Skills Preferred:
Interpretation of customer quality data. Knowledge and interest in current and future infotainment developments. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.

Details
Experience Required:
Design & execution of usability experiments. Report writing.

Experience Preferred:
Design & validation of graphical user-interfaces. Familiarity with Premium automotive sector, products and features. Competitor research/benchmarking, both physical & web-based.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level in a related discipline, such as Human Factors, Ergonomics and/or Engineering.

Education Preferred:
Higher qualification, e.g. MSc in Human Factors.

Additional Information:
This role is based at Gaydon, but will also require frequent working at Whitley.
