The bulk of our work is for external clients and with facilities in the UK, the USA, Malaysia and China, we provide out technology and services to the global automotive industry in the areas of Lightweight architectures, efficient performance, electrical and electronic integration and driving dynamics.

This is a 6 month contract.
Will lead and participate in the design and engineering of automotive products with regard to the manufacturing feasibility of non-metallic moulded components and their influence on assemblies and full vehicle construction.
Will be capable of supporting client meetings and presenting information to clients. This will normally be supported by more senior staff however circumstances may require some unsupported interaction.
Support sourcing decisions for non-metallic material vehicle applications in terms of BOM, investment, weight, and environmental impact.
Provide technical input to establishing quality and test standards for non-metallic materials including, Leather, fabrics and Polymers.
Provide Plastic moulding feasibility/assembly process support to the design team.
Provide technical information and advice on the most suitable non-metallic material, for any given application.
Review engineering data (Clay models, CAD models, 2D drawings and sketches) for manufacturing feasibility.
Advise and recommend to the engineering project team on manufacturing issues that effect the designs direction, such as;
Material Selection/grades and specifications
Moulding Feasibility Moulding process philosophy/feasibility
Process/Tool planning and cost estimating
Cost implications (material and process) Cycle times Joining technologies. Dimensional and tolerance implications
Liaise with material, moulding and testing suppliers.
