The Advanced Product Creation (APC) Powertrain team is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to play an integral part of the team and lead key activities in the delivery of future Powertrain programmes. The successful candidate will work within the APC section of Powertrain Product Development which manages projects from project Kick Off up until the PSC gateway, defining the programme requirements: including technical feasibility/compatibility, vehicle packaging, budget definition (resource, Tooling and DandD, vehicle testing requirements), programme timing, quality planning and manufacturing feasibility. The programme engineer role offers a great opportunity to demonstrate technical, financial and project management skills in a fast moving environment, dealing with new state of the art technologies and a wide range of customers.

Skills Required:
Be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical and process issues within a Project Team environment with the ability to represent the Powertrain Department within the wider engineering function. Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are the personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment. Must be self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision. Experience of program or project management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery essential.

Skills Preferred:
Applicants need to be computer literate in Microsoft software, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Regular inter-site travel means a valid UK driving licence is preferred.

Experience Required:
A good level of knowledge of Powertrain systems is required. Knowledge of Product Development processes and principles are essential in order to support the review and approval of feasible product actions to ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.

Education Required:
Applicants need to be qualified to degree level or have equivalent experience.

Additional Information:
Work will be split between Whitley and Gaydon.
