Applications Engineer, reporting to the manager of our client's Instrumentation Services Group. Delivery of Programme"s Cycle Plan. Supporting and working with a small team of engineers and fitters on a variety of OEM engines and vehicles e.g. Chassis (Brakes/Steering and Dynamics), Power Train, Electrical, Cooling and HVAC. Also expected to work closely with a diverse customer base that have wide ranging measurement/control and data acquisition issues.

Skills Required:
Advice and support in response to engine/vehicle and generally related measurement enquiries and requests. Advise on the application of unique sensors used for temperature, pressure, displacement, load, voltage and current, rotation and frequency. Management and application of such systems as Campbell, Ipetronik and LINK Data Acquisition Systems.

Skills Preferred:
Organisation of the planning, preparation and coordination of instrumentations input into vehicle build/"s. Creation/development of data logging systems and programs in readiness for customer test requirements. Day to day support and trouble shooting of the above.

Experience Required:
Will have a broad based knowledge of instrumentation/sensors and their application.

Experience Preferred:
Preferably a proven instrumentation or electrical background from the automotive industry. An understanding of vehicle CAN networks. Ability to work to tight timeframes in challenging multi-task environments.

Education Required:
Preferably a Degree or HND/HNC in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics.

Education Preferred:
Time served Instrumentation apprentice, and /or, the ability to demonstrate support of a similar role elsewhere. Instrumentation/Electronics NVQ"s or Certificates.
