We seek a Validation and Reliability Growth Engineer for an initial 12-month contract based in Peterborough.

THE COMPANY:

Perkins Engines is part of the UK Caterpillar Group located in Peterborough. They are the leading supplier of off-highway diesel and gas engines for the agricultural, material handling, general industrial and construction sectors.

THE ROLE:

Applicants will take responsible for validation and reliability growth testing of the 400 series tier 4 final diesel engine.

- Internal machine Reliability Growth - Demonstration of engine functional requirements and durability by managing the running of industrial machines, as well as responding to the issues encountered.
- Issues resolution. Identifying issues, root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions and technical solutions to engineering management.
- General validation of core product and customer options. Identify and plan validation tests, source parts, manage validation (test, materials, fitting trials), analyse results and report. Make recommendations for corrective action to engineering management.
- Subject matter expert for 400 series support to internal applications engineers and field follow technicians.

THE PERSON:

You will have an Engineering degree is preferred, but not essential if supported by considerable engine development and test expertise.
The ability to confidently root cause technical issues is essential.
Aftertreatment expertise gained in a field test environment will be beneficial, as will electronics and control systems knowledge.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as customer facing teams
